About

A little more about me.

I've worked as a nurse for the last 7 years. I've worked in two of the largest emergency rooms in Quebec, Canada, and for almost 3 years now, I've work in a clinic. My role includes both direct care and psychological care, that focuses on decision-making support and change management.

It's hard to define clearly what a nurse does since she does a thousands of big and small gestures. However, there are three roles that have defined my practice over the past few years. The nurse is first and foremost a teacher, a companion and an advocate for each patient under her care. She transmits knowledge to empower people in believing they have a certain amount of control over their health and their life trajectory. She accompanies them in different moments of their life, sometime painful and sometime happy, and she advocates for their priorities and their life goals within the multidisciplinary team. Although misunderstood and underused, these roles have thrilled me over the past few years. I recently started a Master of  Philosophy - Applied Ethics at the University of Sherbrooke with the aim of perfecting this support approach.

Over the years, I've developed a counseling approach focused on decision-making support and on change management. It includes non-violent communication, empowerment, motivational therapy, philosophy and psychology.
